NPH Guatemala - Childcare (#P-GUA-16014)

A teacher and student

Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos™ Guatemala serves as a secure, loving home for more than 280 children, many of whom did not have consistent access to food, shelter, education, and responsible care prior to arriving at NPH. It is imperative that our home fill these basic needs so that the children will know they have come to a safe environment where adults will care for them. Our family at NPH is able to provide these basic services for the children through the concerted effort of our nearly 150 staff members.

At NPH Guatemala, we work to ensure universal education for all children. At Casa San Andres, 271 students receive education, including 122 students. Currently, 21 teachers from different regions of Guatemala work diligently five days a week to educate our students. The school adheres to the Guatemalan Ministry of Education's curriculum and in addition offers vocational training, English, and religion courses. The primary goal of our school is to prepare the students for further education such as high school and university and with independent life skills. Our students have a significant advantage as they integrate into society based on the education they receive.
