Casa Sacred Heart is home to 11 children and young adults, four males and seven females with disabilities; they receive 24-hour, specialized care from our dedicated staff. We have seven caregivers in order to ensure that their needs are met. Every day, the caregivers are responsible for direct care, the follow-up on health recommendations, ensuring the youth's integration in educational programs, participation in therapies, inclusion programs and recreational activities.
The majority of our children with disabilities attend school. Depending on their learning needs, each has an individualized program that ensures they are improving their skills and receiving the appropriate level of challenge.
Additionally, our children require effective medical and therapeutic care. Each child has a unique regimen of medications to better their health.
We also have programs that focus on building relationships and understanding between these children and their peers. Friendship Club, for example, is a weekly opportunity for children from different sections to come together with children from the Sacred Heart House in a small group for a special activity like cooking, painting, or games.
We ask that you support our children, through these essential programs of Casa Sacred Heart.
